In the centenary year of Mervyn Peake, Theatre Paradok are extremely proud to present his most legendary of creations, GORMENGHAST. Monuments of post-war British fiction, adapted for stage by John Constable.

Join us as we bring to life the first two books in the trilogy through a blend of soundscape, projected artwork and performance in the dark and gothic atmosphere of the Trinity Apse Church.

In the age-old castle-city of Gormenghast, life is held together by iron-clad rituals and laws. The kitchen boy is intent on power; the heir to the throne on freedom. The braindead twins want their birds back; the fat chef wants to wet his knife with blood, and the owls are circling just off stage, waiting…

Gormenghast was performed 21st – 26th November 2011 at Trinity Apse, Chambers Close, Edinburgh.
