**THE RATSINGER**
Returning from last year's sell-out Fringe success Nights at the Circus, Theatre Paradok is back with an entirely original production, penned by Edinburgh University student and first-time playwright, Rosa Marnie. The story is a reworking of the Pied Piper of Hamelin legend set in a modern day industrial town. The townspeople's brittle routines descend into chaos when a mysterious figure appears in a blaze of music and colour and gives them the power of dance. Nobody knows who he is or why he has come but speculation runs rife and amidst a flurry of wild dances a note of panic begins to chime...
The Ratsinger combines folkloric legend with political satire, blurring the boundaries between the two and calling into question the mania surrounding charismatic figureheads. This production uses physical theatre to explore the power struggles we experience in our everyday lives and the opportunities we find to break free of them.
Theatre Paradok will be performing The Ratsinger at the Eric Liddell Centre, 24th-27th August. Tickets six pounds/five pounds from 07588803497.
